The Pastors Ass Joke - Thanks Shar!

The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won. The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again, and it won again.

The local paper read... PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.

The next day, the local paper headline read: BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ASS

This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the pastor to get rid of the donkey.

The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline the next day:NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN

The Bishop fainted.

He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey, so she sold it to a farmer for $10.

The next day the paper read:NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10

This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild.

The next day the headlines read:NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE

Alas, the Bishop was buried the next day.

The Mattress Industry Conspiracy

Have you tried to purchase a mattress lately? Trying to figure out how some pieces of wood, metal, springs and fabric equals $500-$2000? Me too.

I found that no matter how hard I search, I cannot find the model that I recently purchased anywhere else in the world.

It appears that major retailers have been requiring the Manufacturer to give them exclusive names! Ok, so that shouldn't be a problem right? Many manufacturers supply customized products right?

Hmmmm.... But guess what? There is no way to figure out what is IN your mattress set without destroying it and inspecting it. The only way to try out different mattresses is to actually lay down on them.

Another thing. I bet most of you buy your mattresses while a big sale is going on. Guess what? There are no sales...

I'm pissed. Go search for yourself. Try doing some price comparisons on that fancy expensive mattress you just bought. IF you can remember the maker and model of it!

I invite anyone in the industry to offer their point of view.

There is an outfit called MattressHotline.com that admits to all this and offers "Sealy, Stearns and Foster, and Simmons assign different product names to each retailer. Give us a call at
877-239-7737 to match the product you are interested in with our equivalent model."

So, there you have it. Why is this industry so secretive? How much does a mattress cost in other countries? Is this a global profit phenom?

Dave the dolphin

LONDON (Reuters) - Two men were arrested on Saturday on suspicion of harassing a dolphin known locally as "Dave" off the Kent coast, police said.

Officers arrested the men, aged 25 and 26, at dawn after numerous emergency calls from the public that the animal was being harassed off the coast at Sandgate in Folkstone.

The dolphin has become a local tourist attraction over the past year after making his home in the waters off the Sandgate shore.

Enthusiasts have created a website with pictures and videos of the creature, www.sandgatedolphin.co.uk.

But it has also attracted unwelcome attention from jet skiers and sailors, prompting Kent Police's Maritime Unit to warn offenders they face fines and even prison.

Kent Police Inspector Gavin Roy said people should not try to touch the animal or get within 100 metres of it.

"Dolphins are well-loved and friendly towards humans," he said. "They are protected by law and should be treated with respect."

Solar panels made from beer bottles!

"I invented this for my mother. I wanted her to shower comfortably," says Ma Yanjun, of Qiqiao village, Shaanxi province.

Ma's invention features 66 beer bottles attached to a board. The bottles are connected to each other so that water flows through them.

Sunlight heats the water as is passes slowly through the bottles before flowing into the bathroom as hot water, reports China Economy Network.

Satellites Spot Lost Egyptian Cities From Space - Science News | Current Articles

Satellites hovering above Egypt have zoomed in on a 1,600-year-old metropolis, archaeologists say.

Images captured from space pinpoint telltale signs of previous habitation in the swatch of land 200 miles south of Cairo, which digging recently confirmed as an ancient settlement dating from about 400 A.D.

The find is part of a larger project aiming to map as much of ancient Egypt's archaeological sites, or "tells," as possible before they are destroyed or covered by modern development.

Drought bares Florida lake bottom and reveals human remains, ships and other artifacts | www.azstarnet.com ®

MIAMI (AP) — A drought that has bared parts of the bed of Florida's largest lake has exposed human bone fragments, pottery and even boats — and archaeologists are trying to evaluate the artifacts before water levels rise again.

Archaeologists said there have been no large-scale digs in Lake Okeechobee; most of the finds have been easily spotted along the surface, some by passers-by who called in what they found.

Wireless power could have cellphone users beaming - tech - 07 June 2007 - New Scientist Tech

Inspired by a mobile phone with a rundown battery, Marin Soljaĉić (pronounced soul-ya-cheech), a theoretical physicist at MIT, wondered if he could improve the efficiency of induction over longer distances.

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), in the US, report that they can now send substantial amounts of power - enough to light a 60-watt bulb - across a room by magnetic induction between two devices tuned to resonate with each other.

"I think it’s brilliant," says Douglas Stone, a theoretical physicist at Yale University, not affiliated with the MIT group. "This is something anybody could have thought about for a century."

Ummm, didn't Tesla already do this?
